Annual Meeting & Celebration - January 20
Please mark your calendars for our church meeting, following the Sunday worship service on January 20. This will be a great time to celebrate what God has done in 2007 and look forward to the opportunities of 2008. Over the last 15 months we have been moving into a leadership transition, building our relationships in the congregation, and welcoming new people. As we look to 2008 we begin to turn more outward, seeking God for our call in bringing the Kingdom of God to our communities. Come to learn more.
We'll also be presenting the budget for the year and electing new vestry members.
We look forward to sharing in the abundance of God’s blessings as we share in a potluck meal. Please plan on participating by bringing the following (by last name): A-F Dessert for 8, G-L Main Dish for 8, M-Z Side Dish/Salad for 8. If you are student, please plan on bringing the listed item for your name for 2-3 people. Please also bring your own dishware & silverware. We would like to be environmentally friendly by not using plasticware.

Vestry Meeting - January 15
The Vestry will meet Tuesday night, January 15, at 7:00 p.m. in the Fireside Room at the Evangelical Church, Highland Park. Please pray for this meeting as the vestry will be considering the final budget proposal and new vestry leaders.

Epiphany Blessings
Celebrate the birth of Jesus at our Christmas Eve service, the first worship of Christmastide--sundown December 24th through January 5th. The 6 p.m. service will feature lots of carol singing (beginning around 5:45), the reading of the Christmas story, giving thanks in the Eucharist and singing by candlelight. Bring friends and family with you. Nursery care will be provided.

CaLLiNG Seminar - February 16
The next CaLLiNG Seminar takes place on February 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Faith Christian Reformed Church (1070 S. Prospect Av., Elmhurst IL 60126). Mark your calendars!

Stewardship Update
After much prayer and generosity on the part of God's people at Redeemer, I'm thrilled to be able to report that we reached our year-end financial goal. Thanks be to God! This wasn't a result of one person, or just a few, but many who responded to the call to stewardship and sacrifice that actually helped us surpass the goal. Giving is a spiritual discipline, not just a way to 'pay bills'. This is as true in our personal lives as it is the church, and God is teaching us in this area as we release resources to him in thanksgiving and with joy.
We enter the new year with thanks to God and to his people, focused on the mission and witness that the Lord is calling us to. We'll have more information to share at the Annual Meeting on January 20.
