Blessed New Year from Church of the Redeemer

As we step across the threshold from one year to another, it's good to give thanks for all that God has given, and the blessings that we experience.  The last year was full of times of joy and celebration, but also of loss and pain.  We hold all of these up to God in thanksgiving, and we offer them to each other, so that when one rejoices, we all rejoice, and when we experience pain we share that, as well.

It's true that we don't know what the New Year holds for us, but we know that God is good, and is already there.  And we know that we are journeying together in grace and mercy.  With that assurance we step into what God has for us in the coming year.  May we all know and share the blessing of God's presence and promise in 2009.

A number of people have asked about the financial need at year's end.  We are so thankful for the progress we have made in these tough financial times.  As of this point—New Year's eve—we still are in need of over $30,000 to meet our budget goal for 2008.  Checks may be mailed and postmarked today, or dropped by the office  (please call first, 847-715-6934).  We know that God will provide all that is needed to do the work he has placed before us.  Blessings, and Happy New Year.
